SUMMARY:Yellow Scene Magazine's Annual Gala
DESCRIPTION:For more than 26 years\, Yellow Scene has been proving that local journalism doesn't have to answer to corporations\, political parties\, or the highest bidder. We answer to our readers. That isn't always the easiest path. Local journalism has changed dramatically over the past two decades. Newsrooms have disappeared\, hedge funds have hollowed out newspapers\, and too many publications have blurred the line between advertising and editorial. We've chosen a different road. One where the line between advertising and editorial still means something. We'd sooner take our printer and go home than compromise our journalism standards. Thankfully\, we're also stubborn enough to throw one hell of a party. Every fall we trade the newsroom for the dance floor and invite you to celebrate independent journalism with us. Being newshounds\, we still know how to throw a party: live music\, good food and drinks\, a little dress-up\, and great company. Come in full masquerade\, embrace the steampunk spirit\, or simply come as yourself. We'll have masks\, party favors\, and plenty of opportunities to join the fun. The evening includes: Live Music by Erica Brown with Lionel Young & Friends Tarot Readings Spoken Word Performances Silent Auction Photo Booth Party Favors Surprises throughout the evening Come dressed as you are! We have beads\, masks\, and other fun stuff we hand out. Plus there is pinball\, skeeball\, air hockey and a slew of other fun things to do if dancing isn't your bag. Most importantly\, every ticket helps support Yellow Scene's award-winning journalists\, designers\, photographers\, illustrators\, and the people who somehow keep this whole operation running. (They've grown rather fond of eating.) Our journalism remains free because local businesses advertise with us and readers like you choose to support it. Instead of relying on corporate ownership or compromising our editorial standards\, we rely on our community. We spend most of the year asking hard questions. One night a year\, we put the notebooks away and throw a party. We hope you'll join us.\nTickets: https://fundrazr.com/YSGala2026?ref=cr_5F54r0_ab_7WL53siQNLG7WL53siQNLG
