New outdoor warning sirens being installed in Louisville

Good news: Louisville’s outdoor warning sirens are set to be upgraded this week! These new and improved sirens were purchased through a federal grant and feature new technology that provides clearer messaging.

During installation, the sirens will be tested, and community members may hear the audible message, “This is a test of the outdoor warning system. This is only a test.”

Remember, these sirens are meant to warn those outdoors and aren’t designed to be audible indoors. To ensure you get emergency warnings no matter where you’re at, sign up for the BOCO Alert system today at BOCOAlert.org.
