A New Direct Connection to DIA is Here
A new transit option is now available for getting to Denver International Airport.
RTD recently launched Route AL, its newest SkyRide service, with stops in Longmont, Niwot and Lafayette. The route provides direct service to DIA, giving residents in these communities a new option for airport travel.
On Sept. 28, Commuting Solutions joined the City of Lafayette at the Lafayette Park-n-Ride to celebrate the new service and welcome riders. We enjoyed meeting with the community over coffee and breakfast burritos and hearing the excitement about having a direct airport connection close to home.
Lafayette Mayor Saul Tapia Vega, Councilmember Adam Gianola, Councilmember Crystal Gallegos and Mayor Pro Tem Tim Barnes also joined us to celebrate the launch.
The launch was celebrated in Longmont as well, with local leaders and regional partners gathering at RTD’s 8th Avenue and Coffman Street Park-n-Ride for a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
For people in Lafayette, Niwot, Longmont and surrounding communities, the AL offers a convenient new way to get to DIA without driving and parking at the airport. We’re excited to see riders take advantage of this new service and make their next airport trip by transit.
